Our Story

​Shawdon Homes is a family-run business founded in 2018 by three brothers – Alastair, Callum, and Cameron Shaw.

The name Shawdon is a tribute to our family surname, Shaw, but it also carries a deeper significance.​ Our passion for house building has been passed down through generations. The inspiration behind Shawdon Homes begins with our grandfather, Edward Shaw.

Though not a builder by trade, he dreamed of constructing his own home in his hometown of Sheffield. With determination and the help of library books, he spent his evenings and weekends learning everything he could about the craft.​

Three years later, his vision stood proudly as a finished home – one he named Shawdon. ​By naming our company Shawdon Homes, we honour his legacy and carry forward his spirit of dedication, learning, and building something truly personal.
